Some villains aren't meant to steal the spotlight.

Krem isn't the Joker. He isn't Thanos. He isn't meant to be the next iconic comic book movie villain.

He's a punching bag.

His purpose is to embody the hate, cruelty, and trauma that Kara has to overcome—not to outshine her. The emotional weight of *Supergirl* comes from Kara's journey, not Krem's complexity.

Not every antagonist needs to be unforgettable. Sometimes, they just need to push the hero toward who they're meant to become.

Do you think audiences expect every comic book villain to be iconic, or is it okay for some to simply serve the story?
