Gale Weathers from Scream Isn’t the Hero We Think She Is.

As we head toward Scream 7, there’s one character who still hasn’t fully faced herself: Gale Weathers.

For decades in the Scream franchise, Gale has positioned herself as the truth teller. The journalist. The survivor. The sharpest mind in the room.

But here’s the uncomfortable question.

How many times has she turned trauma into content?

How many books. How many headlines. How many ratings spikes built off bloodshed?

Gale’s arc has flirted with growth. She softens. She connects. She questions herself. And then another Ghostface appears… and she picks the camera back up.

If Scream 7 wants to say something bold, it doesn’t just need another masked killer. It needs to confront Gale’s complicity in the very cycle of violence she claims to expose.

Is she documenting the horror?

Or feeding it?

There’s real character work left to do. And if the franchise truly understands its own meta DNA, Gale’s reckoning might be the sharpest twist left.
